Sixty Transgrafiti artists to tell the story of Estonia to the World

Mextonia is the festival of “Transgrafiti Muralism” that celebrates deep cultural roots of Estonia, through murals created in public walls by Transgrafiti artists, as a gift from Mexico to Estonia, on occasion of the first Centennial of the Republic of Estonia, and the arrival of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union to Tallinn.

You can enjoy the festival in the courtyard of the TV Tower from 12:00 to 16:00 on 20 and 21 June: participate in the workshops of street artists, take part in painting the armoured car of the Estonian War Museum, enjoy street dance performances. The event is FREE OF CHARGE for everyone.

Workshops will take place on two days, instructed by the artists performing in the Mextonia programme. In addition to graffiti art, we will also bring street dance to the TV Tower.

Endorsed by the Estonian 100 Committee and produced by the Mexican organization Nueve Arte Urbano, in collaboration with Todoesuno Eesti, with the local support of EKKM, Stencibility, Pirados, Baltic Sessions, and with the guidance of cultural academic curator Marju Kõivupuu from the University of Tallinn; The festival features 36 transgrafiti artists from Estonia, 16 from México, 8 from the rest of the world, and 15 “mextonian” producers with mostly Mexican funding from the company Incusa SA de CV. Murals will be produced in over 25 locations all over Tallinn and will cover a total surface of ​​more than five thousand square meters of wall, with Mexican paint imported for this sole purpose.
